Two star young athletes from rural W.A. enlist for king & country and the possibility of an ‘adventure’ during WW1. They are sent to the peninsula of Gallipoli in Turkey where the British hold little more than the beach. After some rather hopeless training the young men are confronted by the harsh reality of war and slowly lose their innocence about it’s purpose, climaxing on the battlefield of the futile attack at the Battle of the Nek on 7 August 1915.
