OPPENHEIMER in 70mm
Screening in Glorious 70mm
Christopher Nolan’s highly-anticipated epic thriller biopic will centre on the story of American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the development of the atomic bomb during World War II. Longtime Nolan collaborator Cillian Murphy will play Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist who is among those credited with being the “father of the atomic bomb” for his role in the Manhattan Project—the World War II undertaking that developed the first nuclear weapons.
Both written and directed by Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it.
The film also stars Emily Blunt, Oscar® Winners Matt Damon and Rami Malek and Oscar® Nominees Robert Downey, Jr., Florence Pugh, and Kenneth Branagh. Written and directed by Nolan, the film is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin.
