The Sun Theatre’s sister venue (The Star Theatre in Launceston, Tasmania) has been holding whisky tasting nights over the past few years with great success.
On Saturday 2 July the whisky tasting experience comes to the Sun Theatre in Yarraville!
For this inaugural event the whisky featured will have a distinctly Tasmanian theme, celebrating the 30 year anniversary since whisky distillation legally recommenced in Australia’s southernmost state.
Your host “Whisky Is My Jam” (Mark) will be joined by the 7K Distillery Production Manager & Distiller (Tom) to help guide you through each expression and the distilleries at which they were created.
The evening will include a whisky tasting progression from new make (direct from the stills), to aged malt (not quite whisky), to core range, then cask strength, and even liquid gold thieved ‘straight from the cask’.
$79 Cost includes:
- A welcome cocktail featuring spirit from the Rothwell Distillery on the Rothwell Estate, Little River Victoria.
15ml tastings from the following distilleries:
- The New Zealand Whisky Collection, Dunedin, New Zealand
- Launceston Distillery, Tasmania
- 7K Distillery, Tasmania
- Adams Distillery, Tasmania
- Hillwood, Tamar Valley Distillery, Tasmania
- Hobart Distillery, Tasmania
The event also includes light refreshments.
Numbers are strictly limited to a maximum of 30 whisky tasting participants in Le Salon at The Sun Theatre.
Some drinks featured are high in ABV and served at ‘cask strength’, so please drink responsibly.
(Just for complete clarification this is a whisky tasting event only, no movie involved 🙂 )
