FRI JUN 14, 7.30pm
Includes a drink upon arrival

On June 16, 60 years ago The Beatles performed in Melbourne at Festival Hall. Just a few weeks later they released their first movie, A Hard Day’s Night.

For those of you that missed it, BackBeat will be playing the set list as performed by The Beatles during their Melbourne performance, songs from the Hard Day’s Night movie as well as other fab numbers. But wait there’s more…! There will be the opportunity to purchase a brand new book titled, When We Was Fab: Inside The Beatles Australasian 1964 Tour, and meet the authors Andy Neill and Greg Armstrong!

The BackBeat performance will be followed by a screening of the movie A Hard Day’s Night.

Capturing John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr in their electrifying element, A Hard Day’s Night is a wildly irreverent journey through this pastiche of a day in the life of The Beatles during 1964. The band have to use all their guile and wit to avoid the pursuing fans and press to reach their scheduled television performance, in spite of Paul’s troublemaking grandfather and Ringo’s arrest.

About BackBeat: BackBeat have been performing early Beatles numbers (era 1957-1964) in and around Victoria for the past 18 years with trips back to the UK to perform in the Beatles hometown of Liverpool and the famous Cavern Club.
