ROTHWELL GIN TASTING

Please join us for a special gin tasting event featuring spirits from Rothwell Distillery!

Hosted by the Sun Theatre in the Le Salon Bar, Head Distiller Tim will take you on a journey, tasting their core range and some unique contemporary styles from Rothwell Distillery, learn more about the history and versatility of gin, and giving out prizes to guests.

Saturday December 14th, 4 and 5 PM. 18+ Only.

Awarded distiller Tim Smith has been the head distiller at Rothwell Distillery since the start of 2023. In that time he has totally overhauled the distillery’s offerings, blending traditional gin flavours with unique and contemporary botanicals. He was recognized for his distilling excellence in the 2024 Australian Distilled Spirit Awards, winning two medals. Him and his father Michael grow, harvest, ferment and distill all the ingredients for their spirits at their farm in Little River, endeavouring to create paddock to bottle spirits unique to their location in the outer Western suburbs of Melbourne. Their farm-based distillery will be opening a cellar door in 2025, welcoming guests for the first time to the magnificent, historical Mount Rothwell Estate.

In the lead-up to Christmas, Tim wanted to give Sun Theatre patrons the opportunity to sample their spirits to make informed, personalised choices this gift giving season. The price of admission is fully refundable to any guest who purchases a bottle after the tasting. Bottles will be available on their own, with gift boxes, or available packaged into their new Christmas hamper! There will be complimentary cheese platters for patrons as well.
